Kista International School is a primary school located in Akalla. The school is a free school founded in 2010 and owned by a non-profit association. It is a growing school that, in the 25/26 school year, has about 740 students in grades F-9. The school is very successful and has had around 90% eligibility for upper secondary school in recent years, ranking among the top three schools in the entire country in the Swedish National Agency for Education's survey. We strongly believe in having high expectations for our students and are not satisfied until all students succeed. To achieve this goal, we work hard to strengthen cooperation with homes, maintain order and structure in the school, and take care of our teachers so that they thrive and can do a good job. We are very committed to our good collegial culture at the school, and in the work teams, we have excellent collaboration and support each other. We have a high adult presence at the school and work towards a structured and well-organized student health effort.

We are now expanding our organization and are looking for another school counselor. The current counselor will primarily be responsible for grades 5-9, while our new counselor will focus on grades F-4. We are looking for a counselor who has a strong commitment and always actively works to ensure that all students succeed and feel good. You need to be flexible, have a knack for collaboration, and possess a genuine interest in the students. You will work closely with students in a personalized manner while also considering the bigger picture, both from a group and organizational perspective. In this work, you will need to actively collaborate with the entire staff group, and therefore, you should see good and constructive cooperation as a key to success.

As a counselor at Kista International School, you will work with promoting and preventive student health efforts in collaboration with the rest of the student health team, school management, teachers, and leisure educators, as well as with students and their guardians. You are never alone with challenges and questions. There is a high level of openness among staff, and we share a common responsibility for our students. In addition to the promoting and preventive student health work, you may also need to help and support students with various everyday problems that arise at school or during leisure time.

Qualifications: educated social worker.

Meritorious qualifications: experience working as a school counselor and proficiency in Somali.
